Ludwig Wagner

Ludwig completed a BA(Ed) Fine Arts degree at the University of Pretoria in 1987. He worked as a teacher for a few years before venturing into the film industry, one of many passions. In 2000 he relocated to London where he runs a creative agency, Zuluspice, focussing on design and advertising. Ludwig completed a MA in Film Studies from the University College London (UCL) in 2019 and is currently a PhD candidate at the Centre for Multidisciplinary and Intercultural Inquiry: Film Studies Department at UCL. He is particularly interested in African queer cinemas.

As an artist, he works in several mediums including illustration, photography, painting, sculpture, etching and film, and has recently started learning the art of stained glass making. His deeply autobiographical art reflects his multi-faceted life experience and finds inspiration in the past, present and in imaginary landscapes.
